Well in this post we will be showing you how you can prevent from downloading files automatically fetched by IDM, well there are two simple ways, lets check them out.

#1. Tweaking Settings

Well the first easiest way is to remove the files from settings that you do not want to download automatically.

1. Open IDM, navigate to Downloads > Option.
2. Click on File Types and remove the file types that you do not want to download automatically within browser.
   
3. That's it now press OK and its done.

#2. Using the KEYS Shortcut

There is another hotkey shortcut that you can use to prevent downloading files automatically using IDM.

1. Open IDM, navigate to Downloads > Option.
2. Click on General > Keys and choose the HOTKEY.
   
3. That's it now press OK and you are done, now anytime you wanna open the file inside browser or prevent it to be fetched by IDM automatically simply hold the ALT key and then press the link.
